OK, so Arlington didn't make the Globe's top streets to live in and around Boston. That doesn't mean we can't pick our own favorite street or place to live in Arlington.
Some of the favorite streets in the article include such features as proximity to restaurants, a nature vibe, historic or New England-like attributes, pet-friendly, polished, picturesque, artsy, architecturally interesting, walkable, cultured, hip, easy commute, sense of community, good schools, town center, etc. etc.
Certainly, Arlington has all of this and more:
Historic or New England-like attributes: Jason Russell House, Whittemore Robbins House, Arlington Historical Society
Pet-friendly: Arlington Dog Owners Group (A-DOG)
Cultured: Capitol Theater
Sense of community: Fidelity House, Robbins Library, Little Fox Shop, Arlington Boys & Girls Club, Arlington List
Good schools: Excellent elementary schools, Arlington Enrichment Collaborative (AEC), great high school sports, Arlington Catholic, Leslie Ellis
· Jason Street for its leafy canopy and historic Victorians?
· Mass. Ave. for its hip vibe, restaurants and shops?
· Lowell Street for its proximity to 'the beach?'
· Wyman Street in East Arlington for its traditional triple-deckers?
