During a time when many real estate professionals are scaling back to accommodate a market with low inventory, Steve McKenna & The Home Advantage Team is growing!
Tracy Wallace, longtime resident of East Arlington, is the latest real estate professional to join the #1 team in Arlington. As a working mom with a daughter in the school system, she is closely connected to the community and values all that East Arlington has to offer - including the beauty of the two-family home, the multitude of transportation options, and the perfect blend of people and culture.
We spoke with Tracy so she could share her thoughts on joining the team, and why she chooses to call Arlington home.
Tell us a little bit about your background and expertise.
I've worked in the Boston entertainment industry for over 20 years, in both marketing and sales capacities. I've been a Director of both sales and marketing, marketing new and existing Boston restaurants and nightclubs, as well as overseeing Corporate events ranging from 20-2,000 people.
How do your strengths in sales and marketing play out in real estate?
Marketing is something you need to do 24/7 to be top of mind. The same holds true for real estate - you want to be the one people think of when it comes time to sell or buy a house. My sales strengths are very customer oriented. My job has always been to help my client/customer become comfortable with the process and extremely happy with the results.
How does being a working mom give you an edge in this industry?
First, all moms work! Only the job locations differ :) Working in real estate as a mom in Arlington allows me to share my experiences of being a parent here, including my knowledge of (in no particular order): kids activities, dog parks, schools, after school programs, the bike path, restaurants, public transportation, and of course, where to get the best ice cream.
Why were you interested in joining Steve and the team?
I have always worked in a team environment and I knew that was something important to me. When I met Steve and his team I knew it would be a great fit.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hmmmm... an empty nester working more than ever. I like to keep busy!
What do you love most about East Arlington? What makes living here so unique?
I grew up not knowing what a two-family home was. I love the original concept of them - maybe grandparents live on the first floor, and kids and grandkids on the second and third floors. There is something very special about keeping a family all together. East Arlington is such a mix of so many different types of people and ages. Some being new to the area and some living their whole lives in Arlington, but they all have one common thought - "Great Location."
What are the top three things someone moving to Arlington must know?
1) If you have kids, most likely they will play soccer at some time in their youth :)
2 ) You can ride a bike to work, or take the T.
3) If you don't feel like cooking there are plenty of great restaurants to go to.
It's 5 o'clock on a Saturday - what are most likely doing?
Watching the end of my daughter's tennis tournament, walking my pug Miles on the bike path, or figuring out what we will have for dinner.
