Change is in the air and we’re not just talking temperature and humidity. There is a slight shift in the real estate breeze that is loosening the low inventory grip that has taken hold of Greater Boston in the last few years.
Overall, it appears more homes are slowly trickling on to the market and the frenzy has tapered into a more healthy yet still competitive market.
Interestingly, there are more S/F and condo homes available in Medford than in Arlington for the month of August. It was just the opposite in the month of July, (in July, Arlington had 29 S/F homes sold compared to 23 in Medford, and 24 condos sold compared to 19 in Medford). Availability of multi-family homes has decreased in both towns, with just three M/F homes sold in Arlington and five sold in Medford – a testament to the popularity and demand for this style of home.
