The New Year is well underway and with it are endless options and infinite possibilities. Real estate brings its own set of opportunities (and challenges!) and this year is no different. We have rising interest rates but leveling home prices. We have a loosening of inventory, but it is still a competitive market, and we have a strong job market but rising inflation.
External factors can cause the pendulum to swing in favor of sellers, and at other times it favors of buyers. Typically, the Greater Boston market never veers too far one way or the other, and the result is a fairly balanced market overall.
Right now, this is the busiest January we've seen in years, and we are experiencing above average activity in the market. It could be due to the milder temps, or that people have been in 'wait and see' mode since the pandemic. But buyers and sellers are active, and the market is moving towards something that is healthier and more balanced – just like a good New Year’s resolution.
