Quick Tips For Sellers – Pre-Photographer & Videographer Checklist

Little things go a long way when it comes to making your house shine for potential buyers. Most people know that it’s important to open all the shades and curtains to let the light in prior to photos, but did you know that if those windows aren’t sparkly clean your home may not present as well as it could?

We also recommend prepping your home at least one day in advance so it's ready when photographer(s) arrive for your appointment – but not so far in advance that it’s difficult to maintain.

The successful sale of your home is our top priority. Buyers are likely to see your home online first, and it is critically important that your home is presented in the best possible light (both literally and figuratively!).

Below is a list of tips to help ensure a picture-perfect shoot.

CURB APPEAL | OUTDOOR

  • Manicure the yard (trim shrubs, mow the lawn, remove debris, power wash stains, etc.).
  • Stow away all yard clutter (pool toys, maintenance & cleaning equipment, sports gear, trash cans, pet accessories).
  • Sweep porches and patios.
  • Remove vehicles from the driveway and front of the property and close all garage doors.
  • Wipe outdoor furniture.
  • Turn ON water features.
  • If clean, uncover pools and hot tubs.

INTERIOR

  • Clean and stage the property; remember, less is best. Remove all clutter and personal photos. Sweep, vacuum or mop to remove dust and debris.
  • Dust exposed surfaces and tables.
  • Stow away pet accessories.
  • Kennel pets out of sight or be available to move them when we are shooting your property. Make beds and stow away items under the bed.
  • Remove floor mats and small rugs.

LIGHTING

  • Open blinds and window treatments to allow natural lighting in.
  • Turn ON all lights and lamps and turn OFF ceiling fans. If necessary, replace burned out light bulbs. Turn OFF all lighted screens (computer & TVs).

KITCHEN

  • Remove small appliances, clutter (dishes, soap, towels, etc.), refrigerator magnets.
  • Clean appliances so they are fingerprint and streak free.

BATHROOMS

  • Remove all personal products (soaps, medications, shampoos, makeup, etc.) from countertops,
  • showers, and bathtubs - including toilet scrubbers, waste bins, floor mats, and plungers.
  • Ensure all mirrors and bathroom fixtures are clean.
  • Close all toilet lids.
