In a town known for its charm, history, and vibrant community, it’s essential that everyone – regardless of income – has the opportunity to call Arlington home. April's Arlington’s Finest is proud to spotlight an organization who has made that mission their own: the Arlington Housing Authority (AHA).
This organization represents the backbone of housing stability for many Arlington residents, and their commitment to affordable housing is helping to shape a more inclusive future for all.
The Arlington Housing Authority: A Foundation of Support
The Arlington Housing Authority plays a vital role in ensuring that low- and very-low-income individuals and families have access to clean, safe, and affordable housing in our community. Through government-owned developments and Housing Choice Vouchers for private dwellings, AHA reaches hundreds of residents across town.
Their housing portfolio includes senior living communities such as Chestnut Manor, Cusack Terrace, Drake Village, Hauser Building, Mystic Gardens, and Winslow Towers. For families, Menotomy Manor provides supportive, stable living. AHA’s team works collaboratively with community agencies to not only manage housing but to do so with fiscal responsibility and deep compassion.
Their mission is simple, yet powerful: to serve people – seniors, families, and individuals – who need a place to call home.
Why It Matters
In a competitive housing market like Arlington’s, affordability is not a guarantee—it’s a choice we must actively make. The Arlington Housing Authority and the Housing Corporation of Arlington remind us that behind every statistic is a family, a neighbor, a senior, or a child who deserves the dignity of a stable home.
And that’s exactly what makes these organizations among Arlington’s Finest.
Steve McKenna & The Home Advantage Team's Impact
At Steve McKenna & The Home Advantage Team, we believe that giving back is more than a gesture–it’s a responsibility. This past holiday season, we were proud to support the residents of Menotomy Manor in a way that was both meaningful and personal.
Our team didn’t just donate–we delivered. We purchased and hand-delivered every single gift for the children living at Menotomy Manor. Seeing the smiles, gratitude, and excitement was a powerful reminder of what the season–and our community–is all about. It warmed our hearts and reaffirmed our commitment to supporting the people who make Arlington such a special place to live.
Giving back to this community isn’t just something we do during the holidays—it’s woven into the fabric of who we are.
