Beth Locke is this month’s recipient of Arlington’s Finest! Beth has been the executive director of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years. She was nominated for this award because of her dedication to the Arlington community and helping local businesses, organizations, and more thrive and receive the help, education, and collaboration they need.
The Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization led by a volunteer board of directors and has over 250 paying members, and continues to grow under her direction. Members are made up of local businesses, community members, entrepreneurs, non-profit groups, and home-based workers, according to the website. The Chamber helps stimulate a strong local economy, making Arlington a desirable place to shop, work, and live. They also help members promote and market themselves, provide professional development, help spotlight opportunities to create stronger relationships between businesses and their community, and strive for a collaborative environment between members to create a better environment for the town.
Beth has proven her commitment to Arlington throughout the years, and we are thankful she is a part of the Chamber of Commerce and our community! But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what one nominator had to say about her:
“Beth goes above and beyond for not only Arlington businesses, but the Arlington community as well. Her energy and enthusiasm is displayed in whatever project she supports. Beth partakes in most events that occur in Town. This year, she was on the 250 committee and worked on the kick-off at the Capitol Theater. It was an extremely successful event. The grants she has applied for and received have been a boost to the chamber and have allowed her to support businesses in many different ways. Beth does a lot behind the scenes, too numerous to mention here.”
