Established in 1970, the Arlington Youth Counseling Center is committed to promoting and supporting the social and emotional well-being of all Arlington's youth and families, regardless of ability to pay. They aim to provide equitable access to mental health services to create a better future.
In the early 1990s, the AYCC won accreditation as a fully licensed mental health facility, one of the few town-sponsored licensed facilities in the state. Around 1995, the Center welcomed First Step, a domestic abuse support group for women run by local volunteers. In recent years, the AYCC has suffered major budget cuts in state and federal funding, but through a combination of insurance collections, grants from public and private sources, gifts from community members, and some town funding—they are thriving and continue to support the local community.
The AYCC offers a range of mental health services to support Arlingtonians. If you are interested in accessing their services, call them directly at 781-316-3270.
For mental health services, they offer individual and family therapy, group therapy, school-based services, and medication. They also have a domestic violence support group for women.
The AYCC accepts most insurance to cover its services. For services not covered by insurance, they offer grant assistance to income-eligible families and will work with all families to ensure that services remain affordable and accessible!
