Q&A With Tracy Wallace - East Arlington's Go-To REALTOR®

During a time when many real estate professionals are scaling back to accommodate a market with low inventory, Steve McKenna & The Home Advantage Team is growing!

Tracy Wallace, longtime resident of East Arlington, is the latest real estate professional to join the #1 team in Arlington. As a working mom with a daughter in the school system, she is closely connected to the community and values all that East Arlington has to offer - including the beauty of the two-family home, the multitude of transportation options, and the perfect blend of people and culture.

We spoke with Tracy so she could share her thoughts on joining the team, and why she chooses to call Arlington home.

Tell us a little bit about your background and expertise.

I've worked in the Boston entertainment industry for over 20 years, in both marketing and sales capacities. I've been a Director of both sales and marketing, marketing new and existing Boston restaurants and nightclubs, as well as overseeing Corporate events ranging from 20-2,000 people.

How do your strengths in sales and marketing play out in real estate?

Marketing is something you need to do 24/7 to be top of mind. The same holds true for real estate - you want to be the one people think of when it comes time to sell or buy a house. My sales strengths are very customer oriented. My job has always been to help my client/customer become comfortable with the process and extremely happy with the results.

How does being a working mom give you an edge in this industry?

First, all moms work! Only the job locations differ :) Working in real estate as a mom in Arlington allows me to share my experiences of being a parent here, including my knowledge of (in no particular order): kids activities, dog parks, schools, after school programs, the bike path, restaurants, public transportation, and of course, where to get the best ice cream.

Why were you interested in joining Steve and the team?

I have always worked in a team environment and I knew that was something important to me. When I met Steve and his team I knew it would be a great fit.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Hmmmm... an empty nester working more than ever. I like to keep busy!

What do you love most about East Arlington? What makes living here so unique?

I grew up not knowing what a two-family home was. I love the original concept of them - maybe grandparents live on the first floor, and kids and grandkids on the second and third floors. There is something very special about keeping a family all together. East Arlington is such a mix of so many different types of people and ages. Some being new to the area and some living their whole lives in Arlington, but they all have one common thought - "Great Location."

What are the top three things someone moving to Arlington must know?

1) If you have kids, most likely they will play soccer at some time in their youth :)

2 ) You can ride a bike to work, or take the T.

3) If you don't feel like cooking there are plenty of great restaurants to go to.

It's 5 o'clock on a Saturday - what are most likely doing?

Watching the end of my daughter's tennis tournament, walking my pug Miles on the bike path, or figuring out what we will have for dinner.

A Nose for East Arlington Real Estate

Hi! My name is Miles. I'm friendly, outgoing, social, energetic, smart and I know the East Arlington neighborhood. I can't work with Steve McKenna & The Home Advantage Team at Bowes Real Estate, but my mom Tracy Wallace can! She's new to the #1 team but not new to East Arlington.

My mom, Tracy, knows our neighborhood really well! Every day, rain or shine, you can find us out walking the neighborhood, strolling the bike path, or playing fetch at the dog park. I have my snout to the pavement and she has her pulse on the real estate market. We always know what is going on in the neighborhood. If you want to talk about the East Arlington market call or email her; or better yet, stop us if we happen to be walking by.

It's a dog-meet-dog world out there! So I'd like to give a bark-out to my East Arlington pals: Ellie, Peppa, Brody, Bizby, Mr. Hooves, Happy, Eloise, Barney, Bella, Tula, Pumpkin, Jake, Buddy, Bailey, Fozzie, Sam, Alfie, Coco, Lovey, Cali, J.J., Rusty, Dizzy, Chapin and Louie to name a few, and I can't forget a special dog park mention to Harry from Medford and Slim from Somerville.

See you around town!

Tracy Wallace Takes Part in Local Fire Department Training Drill

Over the years Tracy and her husband have donated houses set for demolition to the Arlington Fire Department to use for practice and training. This year, our very own Tracy was asked to take part in a search and rescue mission. As you will see, it is an incredible feat of courage and strength. These training sessions give valuable experience to firefighters, thank you to Tracy and David for helping the Arlington Fire Department and our community!

Three Truths and a Lie - Tracy Wallace

Just when you think you know someone...

You may THINK we’re just a real estate team, but there’s more to us than meets the eye.

Can you guess the lie?

I am Tracy Wallace and I … Three Truths and a Lie!

... speak 3 languages fluently.

... hate Mac n’ Cheese.

... was a ski instructor in high school.

... have a Dad who was a professional wrestler.

Think it through and head over to Three Truths and a Lie for the answer!

A Happy Client Speaks Volumes

Sometimes it's best to let others do the talking for you, and that's exactly what we're doing here. A happy client of Tracy Wallace was so pleased with the outcome of their home search and experience in working with Tracy, they had to speak up and say:

"We worked with Tracy Wallace from March 2019 through August 2019. Tracy provided us the highest quality service throughout our journey in finding a new home. She demonstrated years of experience with both buyers and sellers. There were several examples where her predictions were spot on, for example, with ask vs. offer pricing. She has street smarts, keen intuition, and social graces dealing with all sorts of personalities (simply put, she’s cool).

She knows when to engage, when to push, and when to step back and give space. She has a knack for all things home development and has an eagle eye for pointing out areas of possible concern, explaining where/why there could be a need for a fix, update, or potential larger looming issue. We looked in Arlington, Acton, Natick, and Wayland. Tracy did her homework on all of these communities and provided niche neighborhood info.  She really wanted to be sure we had our eyes wide open with any offer we made, balancing all factors, and whether we really loved the house.

Tracy helped us see each home from both the seller and buyer perspective. She was proactive in making sure we anticipated what we would or could be up against with our offers, and counter offers (we bought during a sellers’ market with a ton of competition). During the purchase transaction, Tracy was on top of all the details, and helped guide us through the legal/financial process with ease.  She was always 1000% our advocate, with our best interest in mind. We ended up in Arlington Heights, and 4 months later we really do LOVE our home!

My lasting impressions of Tracy is that she is a gem, and any buyer or seller is lucky to have her as a partner.

- Lori, buyer in Arlington
